African Festival of the Arts 2016

This Labor Day weekend, I attended the 27th Annual African Festival of the Arts here in Chicago. The event takes place on the south side's Washington Park and celebrates African art and culture from the motherland and the diaspora. Since 2014, I attend this event every year and hands down, it's my favorite summer festival.

There's amazingly scrumptious food, music and visual artists from across the city, nation, and world, African fabrics and fashions being vended, educational material, and artwork ranging from authentic West African sculptures to glass mosaic paintings. It's surely a treat and an experience to be around these positive vibes and beautiful people. Check out some of my photography below and see the rest on the KLT Art by Kendro photography blog, KLT Photos.
